PONTIAC (WWJ) -- Oakland County authorities say Flock cameras helped them find a Pontiac man wanted for shooting at a driver after a crash.
Jordan Quintero, 27, of Pontiac was arraigned in 50th District Court on Wednesday on multiple felony charges issued by the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office.
According to investigators, a domestic dispute ended when Qunintero and a woman driving another car crashed on East Beverly Avenue in Pontiac early Sunday morning.
Quintero is accused of firing ten shots near the victim's car before driving away.
The sheriff's office said it was Flock cameras that gave detectives a critical lead that led them to Quintero, who was pulled over and arrested on Monday.
According to a news release by the OCSO:
"During the investigation, detectives reviewed home surveillance footage obtained from nearby residences and identified several distinguishing characteristics of the suspect's vehicle, including a unique design on the driver's side doors, a rear spoiler and a front license plate.
"Detectives subsequently utilized the license plate recognition camera system to search for vehicles matching those characteristics. The system identified a vehicle that had recently been captured by a Flock camera in Pontiac, providing investigators with a critical lead. This information enabled detectives to identify the vehicle and its registered owner, significantly advancing the investigation and ultimately leading to the suspect's apprehension."
Quintero is lodged in the Oakland County Jail on charges charges of carrying a concealed weapon, felonious assault, felony firearm, reckless use of a firearm and operating without a license. He was not found to have a concealed pistol license, officials noted.
“Pontiac residents have a right to live in a safe community free from this kind of gun violence,” said Prosecutor Karen McDonald, in a statement. “There’s no excuse for attempting to settle disputes with guns and firing at a car on a residential street could have endangered innocent bystanders.”
Bond for Quintero iwas set at $100,000, 10% cash or surety, with a GPS tether if he is released.
