WARREN (WWJ) -- One woman is dead after a shooting at a house party in Warren on Saturday.
Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer says the preliminary investigations shows the 26-year-old victim and another woman got into an argument and a fight, which escalated to gunfire.
After being shot, the victim drove herself to the 7-Eleven on Schoenherr near 12 Mile and called the police.
When they arrived at the scene, officers discovered the woman had died.
According to Fox2Detroit, the shooting happened outside the Warren home on Colpaert Drive, and the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
"The shooting - that’s just shocking. I mean this is a quiet neighborhood, nothing goes on in this neighborhood, you know?” a neighbor said. "It’s peaceful."
Dwyer says that a search warrant conducted at the home on Colpaert led to the discovery of a marijuana grow operation.
The investigation from Warren Police is ongoing.
