WARREN (WWJ) — A man is in critical condition because of a shooting at a home in Warren.
Warren Police said they were called to a home on Couwlier Avenue, in the area of Toepfer and Groesbeck Highway, for a shooting around 8:45 a.m. Saturday (4/6). Officers arrived on scene to find a man with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim is hospitalized in critical condition.
The suspect was present and he was arrested based "off initial evidence and statements from witnesses on the scene," police said.
A woman at the scene, who said she witnessed the shooting, told officers the shooting may have happened because of a physical fight between the suspect and victim Friday night at a social club in Detroit, according to police.
Investigators spoke to several witnesses and obtained video footage from nearby houses.
Police said "there is no active threat to the public" as everyone involved knew each other and the suspect has been arrested.
