
YPSILANTI (WWJ) The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man showed up at an Ypsilanti hospital with gunshot wounds and died.
Sheriffs' officials told WWJ their deputies responded to Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital on McCauley Drive for a man, 25, with gunshot wounds. They took the call on Friday, July 11, at 7:45 p.m.
He died a short time later.
During their preliminary investigation, deputies learned the shooting possibly took place on Ecorse Road near Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti.
No arrests have been made.
The victim's identity was not released. Authorities said he was from the Washtenaw County area.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the shooting to come forward by calling their tip line at (734) 973-7711.
"Prayers and our deepest condolences go out to the victim’s family, friends and community," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "This case is currently actively under investigation."
