Shooting near Grand Valley State campus leaves 4 injured, including 2 students

ALLENDALE (WWJ) – Four people are recovering after being shot early Sunday morning near the campus of Grand Valley State University in Allendale.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were sent to an apartment complex near the campus around 2:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a loud party in the area.

As police were on the way, they got reports of shots fired in the same area.

When they showed up, they heard more gunshots, according to a report from WOOD TV in Grand Rapids.

Officers found one person who had been shot and provided medical treatment to the victim, who was taken to a hospital.

Officials said three other people showed up with gunshot wounds that are believed to be related to the same shooting.

None of the victims’ injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Two of the victims are students at GVSU.

Authorities have not released any information about what led to the shooting or whether any suspects have been identified.
