YPSILANTI (WWJ) — An investigation is underway after a shooting on I-94 near Ypsilanti left the freeway closed for several hours.
The shooting happened around 5 p.m. along eastbound I-94 near Rawsonville Road, leading to a freeway closure at Huron Street.
Michigan State Police officials have confirmed the shooting involving two vehicles and no injuries were reported.
No suspects were at large, officials said, but it was unclear if any arrests have been made.
The freeway will remain closed from US-23 to Rawsonville for "an extended period of time as as detectives conduct their investigation," MSP officials said.
Drivers are being told to avoid the area and find an alternate route.
