(WWJ) Two people are in custody in connection with a shooting in an Oakland County mall parking lot over the weekend, as police continue to piece together what happened.
Troy police on Monday released more details about multiple shots fired outside the Somerset Collection on Big Beaver Rd., Sunday afternoon -- but they say the shooting "does not appear to be a random attack."
According to investigators, police officers were responding to reports of a loud argument between two groups inside the mall when calls started coming in about a shooting in the north parking lot, near Neiman Marcus.
Police found shell casings that indicated at least two guns were used.
Two people were arrested near the scene, police said, but detectives are trying to find out how they were involved. Their names, ages and other details have not been released.
Four parked cars were damaged by bullets, but police said there are no known injuries at this time. None of the vehicles that were hit were occupied.
Police said someone in a gray or silver SUV with a "boxy body style" -- possibly a Dodge Durango -- may have been involved.
They still don't know for certain if fight inside the mall and the shooting outside were related, and a motive for the shooting is unclear at this time.
