DETROIT (WWJ) - A person who had been shot was found by police earlier Saturday morning, prompting the closure of one west I-94 exit ramp where multiple cop cars were seen by drivers and witnesses passing the area.
Witnesses said heavy police presence was first noted between 9:30 and 10 a.m. Saturday on the westbound freeway exit ramp to Moross just south of Harper Woods.
Authorities with the Detroit Police Department told WWJ had they had discovered someone who had been shot; the victim was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival.
Police confirmed an investigation is underway and so far no one is in custody; officials described the situation as "fluid" and no further details were released.
The details about the victim are unknown at this time.
