ShotSpotter leads Detroit police to scene of double fatal shooting on city's west side

Detroit police said they are investigating the deaths of two men who were discovered shot in their vehicle early Saturday morning.

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police said they are investigating the deaths of two men who were discovered shot in their vehicle early Saturday morning.

Detroit Police Cpl. Dan Donakowski told WWJ that a ShotSpotter run lead police to the 15300 block of Hartwell near Fenkell Ave. shortly before 3 a.m.

As police searched the area, they found two men, a 48-year-old and a 49-year-old, with gunshot wounds inside a tan Chevy Tahoe.

Medics pronounced the two men dead at the scene, Donakowski said.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and no other details were released.
