Smoke billows from massive industrial building fire burning all night long on Detroit's east side, no injuries [VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) -- No injuries were reported, but smoke could be seen from miles away from a massive fire burning Monday morning on Detroit's lower east side.

The fire broke out shortly after midnight on Jan. 19 at a large industrial building covering about a square block at Milwaukee and Orleans. That's in the area of I-75 and East Grand Boulevard, near GM's Factory Zero.

Reporting from the scene, WWJ's Charlie Langton said he could see burned-out vehicles inside what he's told is the Detroit Disposal and Recycling building, which details with industrial equipment recycling.

The fire was under control, but still burning after 9 a.m., with Detroit Fire Department crews, with three ladders at work on the scene. "There's still smoke coming out of the fire," Langton said. "And it's a frozen mess out here; it is very, very cold, very slippery. And that wind is not helping the firefighters at all, blowing this smoke and blowing the fire across the building."

The cause of the fire is unknown, as the investigation gets underway.
