DETROIT (WWJ) While we may break the record for highest temperature on Halloween Day in Metro Detroit, the forecast is still looking a little spooky with a National Weather Service Wind Advisory in effect throughout the evening.
Accuweather predicts kids and the young-at-heart will have to Trick-Or-Treat through the wind, and possibly, rain and thunderstorms. The thunderstorms are slated to start around noon. They will break during parts of the afternoon and start up again around 5 p.m. for at least an hour, according to the hourly forecast.
“Any of those thunderstorms can bring damaging winds,” Accuweather meteorologist Heather Zehr said live on WWJ.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory until 10 p.m. They forecast southwest winds of up to 45 miles per hour that could knock down tree limbs, move unsecured objects and cause power outages.
If we hit 79 degrees today, we’ll hit the break the record for warmest temperature in Metro Detroit on Halloween. Our forecasted high today is 74 degrees and our low is 45.
