ST. CLAIR COUNTY (WWJ) -- A drug bust in St. Clair County ended with an arrest Wednesday night after the suspect tried to destroy evidence.

According to Sheriff Mat King, members of the St. Clair County Drug Task Force (DTF) pursued an investigation into drug sales in the Capac area, which led to the surveillance of a suspect driving a vehicle in Emmett Township.

Officials pulled the car over in the area of Bryce and Connors roads at about 2 a.m. with help from the U.S. Border Patrol K-9 Division.

The suspect, a 33 year old man from Marysville and another occupant in the vehicle, attempted to destroy a quantity of crystal methamphetamine during the traffic stop, according to the DTF.
