KIMBALL TWP, MICH. (WWJ) A St. Clair County man was charged in connection to a deadly stabbing in October.

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office said Robert Barr, 60, of Kimball Township stabbed the victim "during an altercation" on the Wadhams to Avoca bike path, south of Port Huron, on October 12.

Authorities said the victim-- Alvis Miranda, 68 of Port Huron-- took himself to the hospital, while Barr called law enforcement to report the stabbing after he returned home.

The relationship between the suspect and the victim has not been released, nor have the circumstances leading up to the stabbing.

Miranda died on October 28 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit from the injuries he sustained in the stabbing, sheriffs' officials said.

Law enforcement took Barr into custody on December 16 on the charge of Open Murder. His bond was set at $250,000 cash/surety during his arraignment at 72nd Court.
