ST. CLAIR SHORES (WWJ) - A St. Clair Shores man was stabbed several times on Thursday after police said a domestic situation broke out between him and his female roommate -- who also happened to be his ex-girlfriend.
According to St. Clair Shores police, officers were dispatched to a home in the 21000 block of Alger Street around 9:48 p.m. on July 20 after a resident called to report he was assaulted with a knife.
The man then told police his female roommate and ex-domestic partner was responsible for the attack.
When officers arrived at the scene, the found the victim, a 52-year-old man, in the front yard bleeding from his arms and torso.
The man was able to tell officers that he and his roommate got into an argument when she produced a knife and began stabbing him.
When police entered the home, the found an unconscious 58-year-old woman with what appeared to be self-inflicted knife wounds.
Both the man and the woman were taken to a local hospital for medical care. The female suspect is in serious condition, but is expected to recover.
Police said the male victim is listened in stable condition and was treated for non-life threatening wounds.
Detectives are collecting evidence in the case, which is still an open investigation at this time. Once completed, the information will be passed along to the Macomb County Prosecutors Office for review.
