EASTPOINTE (WWJ) -- A security guard who allegedly stabbed a man outside an Eastpointe marijuana dispensary could face up to life in prison.
Leonard Webster of Detroit was arraigned in he 38th District Court on Wednesday on charges of Assault with Intent to Murder, a life felony, and Lying to a Peace Officer.
According to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office, the incident happened on Monday, April 6, in the parking lot of "Moses Roses," on 8 Mile Rd. at Kelly, where Webster worked as a security guard.
Prosecutors said the victim and Webster were arguing when the victim approached Webster's truck, and Webster stabbed him.
It's alleged that, after returning to his own vehicle, the victim was stabbed a second time by Webster through the vehicle window.
The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, officials said.
The judge set Webster's bond at at $500,000, cash/surety only, with a tether and a "no firearms" order if he is released.
Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido said, in a statement: "Individuals must stop resorting to violence in response to any disagreement. Such conduct will not be tolerated and carries grave legal consequences. The allegations in this matter are of the utmost seriousness, and my office will pursue this prosecution to the fullest extent of the law to secure justice for the victim>."
Webster is scheduled to appear in court again on April 28.
