MARQUETTE (WWJ) A stabbing in the Upper Peninsula ends with one man hospitalized and another in custody.
Michigan State Police (MSP) said the stabbing occurred on Friday, October 2, at approximately 10 p.m., in Chocolay Township in Marquette County.
Troopers with the Negaunee Post and assisting law enforcement agencies responded to a home in the township. Upon arrival, they learned a 36-year-old man had stabbed a 32-year-old man with a knife during an altercation.
The suspect also assaulted a person under the age of 18 before the stabbing, according to MSP.
The young person suffered minor injuries. The 32-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries, but is currently in stable condition, MSP said.
Troopers arrested the suspect and lodged him at the Marquette County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
