DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are searching for suspects following a violent situation in Greektown that left a man fighting for his life.
Officials say that the 31-year-old victim was stabbed during a fight that happened at a business on Beaubien around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Security guards were able to break up the brawl, calling in nearby Detroit police officers to assist.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was last reported in critical condition.
Sunday's incident is the latest in a series of recent violent outbreaks in Greektown. Last week, the Detroit Police Department announced a new five-point safety plan to step up crowd control measures throughout the city.
The plan includes an increase in Detroit police patrol presence, particularly on weekends; stricter enforcement of the city's noise ordinance; continued enforcement of drifting and drag racing across the city; parking lot code enforcement to prevent pop-up parties; and reaching out for community partnership support.
