CLARKSTON, Mich. (WWJ) -- A junior high school in Oakland County was evacuated on Tuesday after what officials said was a science experiment gone wrong.
At Clarkston Junior High School in Clarkston, official said accident during an in-class science experiment early in the day led to a chemical spill.
One staff member had a minor injury, according to a spokesperson for the Clarkston Schools district.
No students were hurt.
The school was evacuated as a precaution, but staff and students were given the al- clear to go back inside the building at around 1:30 p.m.
The Independence Township Fire Department -- which responded to the incident -- told WWJ Newsradio 950 that the situation was mitigated and there are no hazards to the students or public.
No further details were released as to what exactly spilled, or what led to the accident.
