LAPEER COUNTY (WWJ) -- A Sterling Heights man got into a lot of trouble with the law after consuming a marijuana edible allegedly made him aggressive.

Lapeer County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance on Lakeview Drive in Oregon Township on Sunday at approximately 2:33 a.m. after a neighbor reported two men were yelling at each other across the street.

When deputies arrived, they discovered a 29-year-old male from Sterling Heights who was bleeding from his head.

The man said he got into a dispute with his 40-year-old brother Mustaque Khan -- who is also from Sterling Heights -- inside the home they recently purchased together with intentions of renovating.

The incident reportedly began after Khan ate some edibles and became aggressive.

During the dispute, Khan allegedly threw his cell phone, striking his younger brother in the head; he then fled the premises on foot. Authorities said Kahn went to a neighbor's where owners became aware of his presence when they heard him yelling on their back porch.

Officials said Khan then entered their home through a sliding glass door.

While inside their kitchen, Khan started knocking silverware and other items off the counters, said officials. The owner of the home, a 49-year-old man, then confronted the suspect.

Authorities said Khan allegedly pushed the homeowner before fleeing the residence.

The homeowner was not injured.

When deputies arrived, Khan was located on the road where he was non-compliant when it came to verbal commands. Police said Khan ended up removing his shirt and assumed an aggressive stance toward the deputies.

When deputies exhausted all their efforts, they deployed a taser to get Khan into custody. He was then lodged at the Lapeer County Jail.

On Monday, the following formal criminal charges were filed by the Lapeer County Prosecutor’s Office:

1. Home Invasion
2. Multiple counts of Assault
3. Multiple counts of Resisting and Obstructing Police
4. Malicious Destruction of Property

Khan's bond was set at $10,000 cash, which he posted.

He is out on bond until his next court appearance on May 27.
