FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Stranger danger has been reported in Farmington Hills after a young boy was approached while walking near a school bus stop.
The nine-year-old boy said around 4 p.m. Thursday, he was approached by a stranger as he walked away from the bus stop located at the intersection of Branchaster Road and Elsworth Street. The two meet in a subdivision located near the southwest corner of 11 Mile Road and Inkster Road.
The child told police the unknown man pulled alongside him and said, "Get in, I'll take you home." The boy then ran away.
The pickup truck was last seen driving southbound on Arden Park Drive near Appleton Drive.
The suspect is described as a younger white male wearing an unknown color baseball hat.
The vehicle is an unknown make/model white pickup truck with black handles.
The Farmington Hills Police Department has increased patrols at all bus stops and is working cooperatively with the Farmington Public School District to address safety concerns.
Detectives are actively investigating this incident.
