(WWJ) Police in two Macomb County communities have been notified about a suspicious person driving a black Corvette.
In a message to parents, officials with Center Line Public schools said there was an incident involving a Center Line High School student, Wednesday afternoon.
The student said she was waiting at a bus stop, at Masch and Frazho, for a younger sibling to be dropped off when a stranger in a black Corvette pulled up and asked her how old she was.
When the bus carrying students from the middle school arrived, the high schooler told the bus driver what had happened.
The student was not harmed.
School officials said the same car was also seen at Roose Elementary in Warren, and that Warren Police were immediately notified.
"We often receive reports from students and parents of what they consider to be suspicious behavior," the school district said. "This is due to the emphasis we all place on reporting suspicious behavior to adults, whenever they feel it is necessary."
Saying the safety of students is their primary concern, school officials parents to remind all of their children — in kindergarten through 12th grade — about the importance of being safe when away from home or school. Remind them always to walk in groups, report anything suspicious to parents or school staff, and never give out personal information. If they feel they are being followed, students should go to the first available safe place and call for help.
