WARREN (WWJ) The superintendent and an administrator of Fitzgerald Public Schools, based in Warren, were arrested; the school district said.
In a statement on social media; the school district said police took them into custody on Friday, December 20th.
The statement said the school board is conducting an "internal review" and "communicating and cooperating with law enforcement."
No information was released about the reason for the arrests or potential charges. The statement, signed by Fitzgerald Public Schools President Julia Yokel, promised to "(update) our community as soon as possible."
Yokel did not name the superintendent in the statement, or specify the identity of the second person arrested.
Yokel concluded the statement: "Please know that this incident does not reflect the vast majority of our administrators, teachers and support staff who work tirelessly each day to provide a world-class education."
Fitzgerald Public Schools represents five schools in the southwest part of Warren: three elementary schools, PD Chatterton Middle School and Fitzgerald Senior High School.
