DETROIT (WWJ) -- Do you know this man?
Police are asking for tips to help identify and locate a suspect wanted in connection with an assault outside a liquor store in Detroit.
Just after 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, investigators say the victim was outside the store, in the 500 block of E. State Fair near I-75, when he was approached by the suspect who asked him for money.
When the victim, a 60-year-old man, denied his request, the suspect went into the store. It's alleged he came out with a bottle and struck the victim, according to police.
The suspect then tried to hit the man with a blunt object, before the victim ran away.
He called police from a different location, but the suspect was gone by the time officers arrived.
The victim sustained minor injuries, but refused medical treatment.
A surveillance photo shows the Black male suspect wearing a Spiderman-themed knit hat, red athletics shoes, ripped jeans, and a blue and red varsity-style jacket with what looks like a Detroit Pistons logo.
Anyone who recognizes this suspect is asked to call the Detroit Police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up (1-800-773-2587).
