INKSTER (WWJ) – Inkster police officials are reportedly asking residents to shelter in place as they investigate a shooting that sent a woman to the hospital late Saturday night.
Police were called to a home on Biltmore Street – near Cherry Hill and Beech Daly Roads – around 10 p.m. Saturday, according to a report from Fox 2.
When officers showed up they found a 29-year-old woman who had been shot in the neck. She was rushed to the hospital, according to the report.
Her condition was not known Sunday morning.
Authorities believe the shooter was still inside the home Sunday morning, as a barricaded gunman situation was declared, the report said.
Officials were asking neighbors to stay inside and others to avoid the area.
No description of the suspect was given and circumstances surrounding the shooting were not clear, including a possible motive.
