
EASTPOINTE (WWJ) - One woman's attempt to steal money from a Macomb County bank was thwarted, authorities said on Tuesday, but now the search for the perpetrator is on.
The Eastpointe Police and Fire Department said the incident occurred around 11:38 a.m. when officers were dispatched to Huntington Bank on 9 Mile near Gratiot for reports of an attempted robbery.
Police were told an African American female made her way into the bank and allegedly passed the teller a note demanding money.

Authorities said the suspect was unsuccessful in her attempt and fled the bank in a black or dark blue Ford Fusion.
The woman was estimated to be in her 40s or 50s with a thin build and weighing roughly 130 to 140 lbs. She is wearing a "distinct" sweater, police said, along with dark pants.
The photos released by authorities, the woman can be seen wearing large sunglasses and a black face mask with a black Adidas bucket hat.
Police said the suspect's vehicle was last seen heading north on Donald.
