
ROMULUS (WWJ) - Authorities at Detroit Metro Airport are investigating reports of two attempted sexual assaults in the last five days where victims were approached by a suspect in one of the parking decks.
The Wayne County Airport spokeswoman Erica Donerson said in a press release that the airport's Public Safety Division was made aware of the incidents in the Big Blue Deck and that investigators are "working diligently to apprehend the suspect."
Airport authorities have brought in local police to add additional patrols at all times on the Big Blue Deck and McNamara Parking Deck until further notice.
Donerson has asked travelers to take "every precaution when parking in the Big Blue Deck."
Several safety tips travels should be aware of are as follows:
• Be aware of your surroundings.
• If you see something, say something by dialing 911.
• Walk confidently and do not talk to strangers.
• Walk in groups if possible.
The investigation remains ongoing and information about the victims has not been released at this time.
