WHITE LAKE TWP. (WWJ) -- White Lake Township Police were searching Monday for suspect in a stabbing at a local apartment complex.
According to investigators, this happened at around 9 a.m. on Sept. 28, at the 4 Corners Lakeside Apartments near Union Lake and Cooley Lake roads in White Lake.
White Lake Township Police Lt. Thomas Sarasin said a preliminary investigation found that an argument broke out between friends and family at the apartment complex, as tenants were moving out.
The situation escalated, and a 19-year-old White Lake Township man was stabbed several times.
Officers and EMS responded to the scene, and the wounded man was rushed to a hospital. He was last reported in serious, but stable condition.
Later in the day, Sarasin said police were still searching for the suspect, a 26-year-old man from Redford who'd fled the scene.
"At this time we don't believe there's any risk to the public," Sarasin told WWJ Newsradio 950's Amanda Forrester. "We believe the male suspect left the area right after this incident, and is attempting to get away from the area to hide out."
