CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Questions are continuing to swirl as police investigate an overnight shooting that may have injured a suspect at a Macomb County apartment complex.

Clinton Township Police Department said in a prepared statement released Wednesday morning that officers were dispatched around 10:55 p.m. on Oct. 24 to the Harbours Apartments off Bayview Ave., in the area of Hall and Heydenreich Roads, on reports of a shooting.

Upon investigation, officers found evidence that an unknown suspect may have possibly been injured in the incident.

The suspect was not found. A K-9 unit was called to the scene, but they also failed to track the suspect.

Police said the gunfire was believed to have stemmed from a robbery that occurred in the area. Unconfirmed reports stated a victim was robbed at gunpoint by three suspects allegedly carrying a pistol and an assault rifle

It as reported that officers became aware of the possibly wounded suspect after locating blood trails on the roads and sidewalks at the apartment complex, with clothing also being found in several areas, but police did not confirm that information.

"The details of the incident are limited, and the investigation of this incident is ongoing," they said. "One subject was taken into custody on other charges."

Anyone with information has been asked to contact Captain Blake at 586-493-7857.
