Dearborn police searching for suspect in double shooting outside club

DEARBORN, Mich. (WWJ) -- The search is on for a suspect who allegedly shot two people outside a Dearborn club Tuesday night.

Dearborn police say they were dispatched to the Pantheion Club near the intersection of Oakman and Michigan shortly after 9 p.m. on the report of a shooting that had just occurred.

When officers arrived to the scene, they found a 24-year-old man who had been shot several times. That man was taken to Beaumont Oakwood Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

A second man was also shot, but was treated at a hospital for minor injuries and released.

An investigation revealed that a group of people, including the victims, had engaged in a verbal and physical altercation with the suspect, who eventually pulled out a gun and began firing shots.

Police say the suspect, who is considered to be armed and dangerous, fled the area in what is believed to be a blue Chevy Impala.

Police on Wednesday released surveillance footage of the suspect and his vehicle and are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating him.

"We will leave no stone unturned and will utilize all available resources to solve this heinous crime," Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims. I urge the community to speak out and help us bring the person responsible to justice."

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has any information regarding the shooting is asked to contact the Dearborn Police Department at 313-943-2241. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
