DETROIT (WWJ) - Two Detroit police officers were injured early Saturday morning after a driver they were investigating suddenly took off, clipping the cops in their attempt to get away.
According to officials, the incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. near the area of E. Outer Drive and 7 Mile when the two officers had pulled over a Toyota Camry.
The driver of the Camry attempted to leave the scene and abruptly peeled away in their car, injuring the officers.
Medics responded to the incident and treated both cops before they were transferred to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities said the driver of the Camry was caught and is in police custody.
