LINCOLN PARK (WWJ) -- A wounded suspect was taken to a hospital Friday after being shot by police in Lincoln Park, according to Michigan State Police.
The MSP Second District Special Investigation Section was called in to investigate the incident involving officers with Lincoln Park Police Department, early Friday morning in the Downriver community.
MSP said there were no injuries to the public and no injuries to police officers when the shots rang out before 12:30 a.m.
Later Friday, police said the suspect was being treated at a local hospital with for what was described as a non-life-threatening injury.
It's unclear at this time that led up to the shooting.
MSP said detectives were still conducting interviews and gathering evidence.
Any possible charges are pending further investigation and prosecutor review.
