DETROIT (WWJ) – A Utica man is behind bars after a drunken crash in Detroit Monday night left a woman in critical condition.
The 66-year-old man was driving his Range Rover when he rear-ended a Ford Edge on the Lodge Freeway near Chicago Boulevard around 11:30 p.m. Monday, according to Michigan State Police.
The driver of the Edge, a 45-year-old Detroit woman, was found at the scene unconscious but breathing, MSP officials said.
While authorities were investigating the crash, they determined the Utica man was driving while intoxicated. MSP officials did not immediately reveal the man's BAC.
He was arrested and held at the Detroit Detention Center. His name has not been released, pending prosecutor review and court proceedings.
The driver of the Ford was still listed in critical condition Tuesday afternoon, according to MSP.
