DETROIT (WWJ) -- A Downriver man could spend the rest of his life in prison after authorities say he shot three people, killing two of them, during a fight at a Detroit home.
Prosecutor Kym Worthy on Friday announced the case against 36-year-old Gabriel Kieshaun-Dajuan Toler of Taylor, in connection with the deadly incident the afternoon of May 5.
Just before 2 p.m. that day, police were called to a home in the 3800 block of 33rd Street on reports of gunfire.
Inside the house, officers found 28-year-old Mary Hernandez of Monroe and 41-year-old Hollie Stoops of Lincoln Park both dead.
Hernandez had a gunshot wound to the head, prosecutors said, and Stoops had been shot in the back and the head.
A third victim, identified as a 33-year-old Taylor man, had been shot in the face and the leg. That person was taken by EMS to a hospital for treatment.
It's alleged, prosecutors said, that Toler and Hernandez were argueing when the situation escalated, Toler pulled out a fun and began shooting.
He fled the scene after the shooting, but was tracked down and arrested on Tuesday following an investigation by Detroit Police.
Worthy said Toler has been charged with two counts of First-Degree Murder, one count of Assault with Intent to Murder, one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and four counts of Felony Firearm.
He was arraigned in 36th District Court Friday morning and was remanded to jail without bond. Toler's next scheduled court date is a probable cause conference on May 28.
Authorities did not say what the fight was about.
