Taylor woman arrested after chase caught on video in Huron Township; Police say she had 9 guns in the car

TAYLOR (WWJ) -- Charges are pending against a Taylor woman who led police on a chase through several western Wayne County communities.

According to the Huron Township Police Department, after the 54-year old "armed suspect" sped away from Taylor police Wednesday afternoon, setting off a pursuit.

After stopping along Ash Road, the driver took off again as police approached. She nearly ran over a Huron Township officer and hit several fences, police said, before driving to the Carleton Farms Landfill where she tried to ram several cop cars.

She was eventually boxed in and taken into custody.

The Huron Township PD released video of the chase and arrest on Thursday.

Police said three Huron Township Police officers sustained minor injuries and were treated by paramedics at the scene.

After her arrest, an inspection of the woman's vehicle allegedly turned up nine handguns and rifles with scopes, some of which were loaded.

She's expected to face multiple felony charges.

Police said the woman remained in custody at the Taylor Police Department pending a review of the case by the Wayne County Prosecutor. Her name is being withheld, pending an arraignment.
