DETROIT (WWJ) -- A walk-through exhibition that allows you to literally immerse yourself in the artwork of Vincent Van Gogh is coming to the TCF Center this summer.

The event uses 360-degree projection mapping technology that creates an atmosphere allowing visitors walk through Van Gogh’s most famous paintings.

The event marks the return of live events at the TCF Center, and general manager Karen Torato says they are taking proper COVID-19 safety precautions, while still moving forward with more bookings this summer.

“We are constantly assessing staffing needs and hiring to cover all contingencies on the event calendar,” Totaro said in a statement. “It will be great to get the whole team back together in full force when we beat this virus.”

Other live events planned for the TCF Center in the coming months include the USA Weightlifting National Championships (June 25-July 4), the Midwest Cannabis Business Conference Sept. 22 and 23), Campus Party TechFest (Oct. 8-10), Automation Alley Integr8 (Oct. 19), and Forge Fair (Oct. 26-28).

Beyond Van Gogh Detroit opens on June 25 and runs through August 8.

Those interested in attending have to reserve tickets and time slots in advance to allow for limited capacity and proper social distancing.
