(WWJ) A Dearborn teenager is facing an assault charge after it's alleged he pointed what turned out to be pellet gun at another driver in Troy.

Troy Police officers responded to the area of Coolidge and Maple, Tuesday afternoon, after calls came in that someone in a silver Cadillac was brandishing and pointing a handgun at other drivers.

Officers found the suspect vehicle -- a silver 2016 Cadillac ATS -- unoccupied in a parking lot near Saks Fifth Avenue at the Somerset Collection on Big Beaver Rd.

Through the window, police said officers could see what appeared to be a black handgun in the driver's door pocket.

Police were able to find the four young men who were seen getting out of the car.

Police said the driver admitted to having a pellet gun in the vehicle. He initially said it was in his lap while he was driving, but later admitted he pointed it at another driver after a road rage incident.

Police confirmed the gun they saw in the car was a pellet gun.

The driver and passenger, both 17 year old males from Dearborn, were arrested and transported to the Troy Police lock-up facility. The driver was charged with Felonious Assault. The passenger -- who police said had a double-edge knife and brass knuckles on him -- was charged with Possession of Metallic Knuckles.

The two remaining passengers were released at the scene.
