
LANSING (WWJ) -- A teenager was killed, and six more young people were wounded when shots were fired into a crowd in downtown Lansing, early Monday morning.
Lansing Police said officers responded at around 3 a.m. on Memorial Day to reports of a shooting in the 300 block of River Front Dr. This is a busy area of downtown, near Lansing Shuffle and the city market.
On the scene, officers found a large crowd of people and multiple shooting victims, ranging in age from 15 to 20 years old.
A 17 year old boy was taken to the hospital where he died, police said,
At least one other person was listed in critical condition.
Police don't have a suspect in custody, and there is no description of the shooter at this time.
Investigators remained on the scene later Monday, working to determine what led up to the shootings, while police are calling an "isolated incident."
