Multiple teens arrested, one injured after leading Dearborn Heights police on chase, crashing into other cars

DEARBORN HEIGHTS (WWJ) – Four teenagers are in custody and another is hospitalized following a police chase and crash in Dearborn Heights Monday afternoon.

Officers tried to pull over a Mercury Milan, which had been reported stolen, but the suspects took off around, officials told WWJ.

The chase lasted about a mile, before the stolen Milan crashed into two other cars near Michigan Avenue and Oakwood Boulevard in Dearborn.

The area remains closed as police investigate and officials are asking the public to avoid the area.

Officials said there were five people in the car, ranging from ages 15-to-18. Four suspects were from Michigan, while one was from North Dakota, according to police.

One of the teens was taken to the hospital. Their condition was not known.

A handgun and taser were seized from the car.

Further details about the incident have not been released, as the investigation continues.
