HOWELL (WWJ) -- Three teenagers are facing charges after allegedly leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle Livingston County.
Last Friday, the Livingston County Sheriff's Office said its deputies tried to stop a stolen car on eastbound I-96 near Mason Road, in Howell Township.
According to investigators, the driver led the deputies on a high-speed chase through Howell and Pinckney, reaching speeds of 100 mph.
Eventually in Hamburg Township, the deputies were able to perform a PIT maneuver, stopped the car and took all three teens in the car into custody without incident.
The sheriff's office said the 15-year-old driver and two passengers, ages 14 and 15, are all from the Grand Rapids. A preliminary investigation found that the vehicle has been stolen in Grand Rapids several days before the chase.
Two of the teens were on a tether, officials said, and were possession of multiple financial transaction devices that did not belong to them.
They were released to their parents with expected juvenile charges by the Kent County Prosecutor's Office pending.
