(WWJ) – After a brief pandemic delay, the Academy Awards return to TV Sunday night, looking to bounce back from terrible ratings a year ago.
The Oscars broadcast in 2021 garnered the worst TV ratings since 1970, when Nielsen started recording ratings, with just an estimated 10.4 million viewers.
This begs a few questions, including one big one – do people still care about The Oscars?
WWJ’s Erin Vee spoke with film critic David Moskowitz to ask.
Moskowitz believes the show will tank for a second straight year, and there are many factors in play as to why.
Moskowitz is a film critic who runs a series of reviews on YouTube called “Mosky at the Movies.”
