YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Two teens have been arrested by authorities after a home invasion turned into a lengthy police chase and ended in a fiery car crash on Tuesday.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office said via WDIV that the incident first occurred after three suspects broke into a residence in the 200 block of Wiltshire Drive in Superior Township and drove off in the homeowner's SUV.

Deputies were in pursuit of the suspects when they hit a woman driving along Ford Boulevard; police said her car burst into flames.

Witnesses at the scene of the crash told WDIV that three people were able to free themselves from the SUV and tried to flee police on foot.

Two suspects, ages 15 and 17, were arrested by police and are being treated at the hospital for non life-threatening injuries related to the crash, the sheriff's office told WDIV.

The third suspect has reportedly eluded police.

The woman behind the wheel of the other vehicle miraculously only sustained minor injuries, police confirmed.

It is unclear what charges the juveniles will face.
