1. Movement Music Festival

Each year on Memorial Day weekend, thousands of people from across the globe gather in the birthplace of techno to celebrate the heritage of Detroit and its influence at Movement Music Festival. This year, one of the longest-running dance music festivals in the world returns to showcase authentic techno music from a huge lineup of artists that are sure to get you dancing.

2. Greater Rochester Heritage Days Festival

Come out and enjoy a free, family-friendly, fun time this Memorial Day weekend at the Greater Rochester Heritage Festival at Rochester Municipal Park! Shop handmade artwork made by Michigan artists, get your garden summer-ready at the Plant Sale, and check out the Heritage Rod & Custom Car Festival on Saturday, May 27 and the Festival of Cars show on Sunday, May 28. Plus, enjoy food from a variety of food trucks and listen to some great live music!

3. Ya'ssoo Greek Festival

On Memorial Day Weekend, St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Bloomfield Hills once again brings the Ya’ssoo Greek Festival to Metro Detroit! Enjoy three days of Greek culture, Greek customs, and Greek cuisine, along with live music from the Dave Bennett Quartet, the Magic Bus Band, and Enigma, plus a Golden Koutala Cook-Off, activities for the whole family, and more.

4. Kensington Art Fair

The Kensington Art Fair returns to Maple Beach this Memorial Day weekend! The Art Fair features artists from across the U.S. showcasing and selling their pieces. There will also be live art demonstrations, hands-on activities, a variety of food trucks and a selection of buskers performing live music. Admission is free, but a Metroparks vehicle pass is required.

This Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial start to summer, and communities all across Metro Detroit will be marking the occasion by honoring fallen and missing soldiers.
