1. 15th Annual MIU Run for the Ribbon 5K

Men’s Health Week will culminate this weekend with the 15th Annual MIU Run for the Ribbon 5K. Run for the Ribbon takes place Father’s Day at 8 a.m. at the Detroit Zoo to support prostate cancer survivorship. Participants can participate in the 5K run/walk loop with the option of an untimed walk, or a one-mile stroll inside the zoo.

2. Juneteenth Freedom Fest

Ring in Juneteenth in the heart of Detroit! The Juneteenth Freedom Fest is set for Sunday, June 18 at Eastern Market in Sheds 5 and 6. Enjoy events and activities for kids and adults, plus a variety of food trucks, black-owned business vendors, live performances and more. The Freedom Fest on Sunday commemorates the day of liberation for African Americans in the United States.

3. Opa Greek Fest!

Get down, Greek-style this weekend at Opa Greek Fest! The largest Greek Festival in Metro Detroit returns at St. Nicholas in Troy, and brings with it a whole lot of food, fun and music. Check out live cooking demonstrations and competitions, shop local at the Greek marketplace, enjoy traditional dance performances, and of course — get ready to eat!

4. Night Market at Beacon Park

On Saturday evenings throughout the summer, Beacon Park will be transformed into a Night Market where visitors can shop local and support a rotating list of Detroit-based makers and entrepreneurs offering everything from fine art to delicious desserts. Plus, take in live music, drinks, food and the sights and sounds the city. Night Markets at Beacon Park in Detroit happen Saturdays from 6 p.m. - 11 p.m.

5. Motor Muster at Greenfield Village

Kick summer into high gear this Father’s Day weekend at Greenfield Village! Motor Muster, one of the country’s most exciting historic vehicle shows, transports you to the golden eras of car culture. Hundreds of car owners show off the talent that goes into preserving and restoring these living connections to the past, and experts share the history and insights at pass-in-review parades.
