HOWELL (WWJ) Flames broke out at a storage facility at a popular market in Howell, fire officials said.

The Brighton Fire Department, one of the responding agencies, said the three-alarm fire started at a storage facility at Great Lakes Custom Meats and More around 2 a.m. on Monday, August 17— on Highland Road near Argentine.

According to fire officials, the store itself was not affected.

There’s no word on any injuries or a cause of the blaze.

Deerfield, Fowlerville, Green Oaks and Brighton fire departments all assisted at the scene.

Great Lakes Custom Meats and More describes itself as a “locally owned family meat market serving the community (we) call home.” The Radtke family has been in the business for more than 40 years.

They sell beef, ham, elk, jerky, among other meat products. It's unclear how the fire will affect business operations.
