KALAMAZOO (WWJ) A shooting at a house party in West Michigan left one teen and two young adults hospitalized, including one in critical condition.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said the gunfire broke out on Trimble, off of Main Street, on Sunday, June 7th around 2:20 a.m. Officers responded to reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found a 21-year-old woman with a gunshot wound.
Officers then learned two other gunshot wound victims had arrived at local hospitals via private transportation: a 14-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man.
The 19-year-old is in critical condition, according to police. Police have not released the conditions of the other two victims.
Authorities said their initial investigation revealed the suspect fired shots during the "large" house party and then ran away. He remains on the run.
The Kalamazoo Metro Special Weapons and Tactics executed a search warrant at the house. Officers took a 29-year-old man into custody at the crime scene on unrelated weapons charges. His arraignment is slated for Monday, June 8.
