DETROIT (WWJ) - We like it, we love it. We want some more of it — more Tim McGraw that is and a headlining performance by the major country music star is exactly what Audacy’s 99.5 WYCD's annual Hoedown will give fans at Pine Knob Music Theater this spring.

WYCD made the announcement Tuesday morning and said the three-time Grammy winner will be joined by performances from multi-platinum songwriter and artist Chris Janson and "buzzy young singer" Kassi Ashton at the May 20th event.

Other performances on the main stage by additional artists will be announced soon.

McGraw, who has dominated the county music scene across four decades with 45 No. 1 country singles, is the most successful artist to take the stage at the festival since it moved to Oakland County in 2016.

“There’s one artist that we have wanted for Hoedown for years and it’s Tim McGraw!” 99.5 WYCD Program Director Tim Roberts said in a press release. “YCD Nation is ready for this epic show at Pine Knob!”

For nearly three decades prior, the country music festival was a free event hosted at Hart Plaza in Detroit.

Event organizers say doors open with fans able to access to the Festival Stage grounds at 3 p.m. Tickets will be for sale starting Friday, March 3 at 10 a.m. at 313Presents.com, LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.com.
