DETROIT (WWJ) -- Investigators in Detroit are asking for tips from the public as they work to track down a man who set fire to a vacant home.
The Detroit Fire Investigation Division, a joint task force between the Detroit Police and Fire Departments, released a photo of a suspect wanted in connection with an incident on May 12.
Firefighters responded to the scene, in the 1800 block of Eason Street on the city's west side, on the report of a house fire.
They put the fire out, and no one was injured.
Investigators were able to gather video of the suspect, who is seen approaching the rear of the home with a bag, and then running away once the fire started, officials said. [Watch the video HERE]
The suspect is described as a man around 40 to 50 years old, between 5’8” and 6’3” tall, with short hair. He was wearing a blue jacket and brown pants.
As the investigation continues, a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person who set the fire.
