CORUNNA, MICH. (AP/WWJ) The former host of the "To Catch a Predator" TV series turned himself after a Michigan judge issued a warrant for his arrest.

That warrant was a for no-showing at a court hearing in Shiawassee County to explain not giving a defense lawyer more footage of a police sting operation.

Chris Hansen checked in at the jail in Corunna Friday (about 25 miles west of Flint), was released and has 14 days to produce the full video.

Hansen says the matter has been resolved.

The sting operation resulted in three men, including a state corrections officer, being charged with trying to meet underage girls for sex. Hansen was embedded with law enforcement.

Prior to turning himself in, Hansen posted on Instagram that the warrant was all one big "miscommunication."

"The court matter in Shiawasse Co, Mi today resulted from a predator investigation there. Defense lawyers for accused predator Michael Lott had requested video from the investigation. There was miscommunication about a hearing today on the issue. The matter is currently being resolved!" Hansen wrote.

Hansen, who is also a Dateline NBC reporter, has remained committed to the sex trafficking cause despite "To Catch A Predator"'s cancellation in 2008. He hosts a podcast on the topic.
