(WWJ) They're saying he really must have nine lives, maybe more. A cat found under the rubble of his Michigan home after a deadly tornado hit Union City earlier this month is going to be OK.
"Doobie" has a leg and pelvic fracture, and his leg had to be amputated.
He's now in the care of Dr. Joanna Bronson at Bronson Veterinary Services in Coldwater, where the vet told WWJ's Ryan Wrecker he's making progress.
"He's able to kind of get around a little bit now, which is good," Bronson said. "At first he couldn't walk, but he's starting to be able to stand and maneuver himself decently well, so that's good. His fractures are healing."
The latest video of Doobie shows he's jumping up when dinner is served, and has regained his appetite.
Bronson said it will take six to eight weeks, but Doobie is expected to recover.
