TROY (WWJ) -- Two teenagers from Lansing and Detroit are facing charges after they were caught with loaded guns while allegedly shoplifting at the Somerset Collection in Troy.
Troy Police were called last Saturday evening to Zumiez, a specialty clothing store in the mall on W. Big Beaver Rd., on a report of a retail fraud.
When officers arrived, they were met by store security guards, a store manager and two suspects: a 17-year-old from Detroit, and an 18-year-old from Lansing.
During "a safety pat down for weapons" officers said they found a loaded Smith and Wesson handgun in the 18-year-old suspect's right front pocket, and a loaded Glock handgun in the other suspect's pants.
Both of the suspects were handcuffed and arrested.
Officers spoke with the store manager who said the teens had stolen one pair of underwear each from the store.
The suspects were taken to the Troy Police Department for processing on charges of Retail Fraud and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. Their names were not immediately released.
